The Isle of Skye was a massive inspiration for my 2018 Degree Show exhibition. My mum and I would visit Skye every Summer when I was wee, and it was always a place that we could have one-on-one time without all the boys we were surrounded by. After my mum fell ill for the first time, our trips became less and less frequent, but I took the photos that would become all of the collages and multimedia pieces below in 2016, when I surprised her with a trip for her birthday.
My degree show explored the digitisation of the natural world, and the commodification of spirituality. An instagram account featuring a character piece from this period still exists at @isolamaeatlas
